Cafe Culture

Hello! It's been a few days, but only because I've started classes and my life has become less interesting lol. Today I wanted to talk about cafe culture. Korean cafe culture is huge, take notes America. Cafes are everywhere and each one is special, other than the chains like starbucks which are surprisingly nice and have good food?? I know weird right. A few days ago I visited my new study spot, an out of the way cafe near my campus filled with bean bag chairs and towering bingsu oreo treats(bingsu is kind of like Korean ice cream). This place is comfy and chill and a great find.
Today after class I went to another cafe right near my apartment. It's on the 8th floor of a high rise and has a great outdoor patio. The view and the weather were amazing and I spent most of my study time people watching. Also listening to the smooth jazz playing from the outdoor speakers. 10/10
Sadly since I won't be getting my nails done down south this summer I had to have them done here. My nails were a hot mess turned green from some spring nail polish last month and they had to go. I popped into the first nail salon I saw and was welcomed by a very fat cat and a nice Korean woman. Somehow I managed to get across what I wanted and my hands were put to work. This is my first time having acrylics, let alone getting my fingers done before, and I have to say they feel super weird. Like long claws. But they look beautiful and the woman was very nice the whole time. However I found myself having difficulty speaking with her, she would ask me many questions above my korean level to which I would pick out words and hope I was answering correctly. It was a lot of "ne, ne, ne, aniyo, ne ne"(aka yes and no). But I got out alive with beautiful nails and hopefully wasn't ripped off! Stay tuned for more cafes including sheep, dog, meerkat, and raccoon cafes!
