Shopping and Ouch!
Hello!! This is me in front of the famous ECC at my university(Ewha University).
SHOPPING
They say that Korea has a low cost of living, which is true... that is if you don't like shopping. If you are like me and love food, trendy clothes, and shoes you're in heaven, and also kinda screwed. I have to refrain from buying shoes because I can't fit them in my suit case but damn there are cute shoes everywhere!! I splurged on some cute wedge leather tennis shoes with embroidery, I had to have them ok? and they were only 18 dollars US! If you want to shop you literally only have to walk out your front door. There are clothing shops in back alleys, every subway station, and every street. Today I went with some friends over to Hongdae and found some cute bottle openers of makoli(rice wine) and of course soju. One for my apartment and one for my parents house. The store owner was even nice enough to throw in a free coin purse! This is called "service" in Korea, and often times you can haggle your way into getting free stuff, if you're good at Korean that is. But we didn't haggle, we're just cute. Below is a cute shirt I bought in a clothing stall for 5 dollars with little no face characters on it!(from spirited away)
OUCH!
So today I found that piercings are super cheap in Korea? I got my second lobe piercings done as well as my inner conch for only 30,000 won(around 27 US dollars). Whereas in the states I paid 60 for my nose piercing alone. My friend got her nose done as well as her second lobes for only 20,000 won! I'll definitely be returning. But hello ouch!!
STREET PERFORMERS
Street performers are definitely one of my favorite parts of Seoul. There is a block in Hongdae where street performers, everyone from dance groups, singers, bands, and magicians show up. Today we stumbled upon a few singers and a very talented magician. Here's a small video(not very great quality) of a dance group we saw last weekend.
BLOOPERS
- Not really a blooper but I'm thinking of filming some vlogs, if that is something you would like to see let me know!
